Creative workshops and activities for Auckland Council.
Years: 2016 - 2019
Client: Panuku Development Auckland
At the start of 2016, I founded Crafty Crew with the support of my final_final collaborators. Since then, I've been organising regular kids craft workshops on behalf of Auckland Council, and occasionally Local Boards, and companies Fresh Concept and Angus Muir Design. The purpose of the Crafty Crew was to offer work to young creatives at a decent rate, and offer a valuable service for Auckland communities.
Activities are designed to take between 15 and 30 minutes, with parents and children stopping in casually to get involved and taking away something that they have made. Workshops are generally organised to fit in with larger Place Making initiatives.
Since 2016 the crafty Crew network has included over 20+ Auckland creatives. Workshops have been regularly held at Silo Park (Summer of 2017 & 2018) and Northcote Town Centre (2017 - Ongoing) with one-off workshops taking place in Grey Lynn, Panmure, Takapuna, Drury and Auckland Viaduct.
